Goalkeeper Alan Martin would naturally welcome a new deal at Crewe Alexandra with open arms.

"I want to be at Crewe - it is a great club" - Alan Martin
The 23-year-old Scot is finally getting his chance after regular custodian Steve Phillips was ruled out by injury.

Martin is currently on a short-term deal with the club but still remains hopeful of extending it at some point.

"Obviously as time goes on I'll start to wonder if my future is here. I want it to be, I want to be at Crewe - it is a great club," Martin told the Crewe Chronicle. "I have been satisfied with my season so far but I still want to get more into my game. I've still only played seven matches in a year-and-a-half here."

The former Leeds United trainee has appeared in all seven games so far this season while keeping a clean sheet in the last couple.
