Duo Sign on Deadline Day

Crewe yesterday completed the signings of Lee Matthews and Rodney Jack until the end of the season. Jack's 'signing' was more of a contract extension, as the 33-year old has been registered with the club for around a month now. Jack made a good impression as a late substitute in last week's 4-1 beating of Brighton.

Lee Matthews has been at the club for some time now, albeit in a non-playing capacity. Matthews has been receiving treatment from Crewe physio Matt Radcliffe in a bid to overcome his torrid injury situation, and has eventually earnt himself a contract having stepped up his training regime to include sessions with the first team.

The window is now officially shut until 00:01 on January 1st, but short term loan signings can be made by Football League clubs as of 00:01 on September 8th.

Must say that Matthews has impressed me when he has played against us in the past. I'm sure Dario will know how to get the best out of him.
