Rival boss expecting tough task

Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore says his side will need to be at their best against Crewe Alexandra this weekend.

"They'll be one of the best footballing teams at this level and they'll be looking to go up again this year" - Ronnie Moore
The Birkenhead club have certainly made a great start to their season, sweeping to the top of the table following victories over Leyton Orient, Carlisle United and Colchester United in their opening four league games.

But they then suffered a 2-0 midweek defeat at Port Vale in the Johnstone's Paint Tropy and will doubtless be aiming for an immediate response when visiting Gresty Road on Saturday, although manager Moore concedes it won't be easy.

"They're a good attacking, footballing team," Moore told Tranmere's official website. "Steve Davis has done a fantastic job there. He knows the club inside out and got them promotion last year.

"They'll be one of the best footballing teams at this level and they'll be looking to go up again this year," he added. "Some people say that because you play football you're soft-centred. I don't see that in this Crewe team. They've got a good squad of players there."
