Crewe set for loan moves

The departure of skipper Ashley Westwood to Aston Villa and recent injury to top scorer Mathias Pogba makes it appear certain that Crewe Alexandra will be adding to their squad via the loan market later this week.

"We have made enquiries and seeing what is available" - Steve Davis
The transfer window may have closed on Friday evening but clubs still have the option of adding to their ranks through an emergency loan a week later.

And Davis is already seemingly taking advantage of that by searching for another midfielder and a striker with greater physical presence.

"We have made enquiries and seeing what is available" he told Crewe's official website. "We were close to do one or two on Friday but the issue there could be their wages and the percentage we may be asked to pay."

Davis will certainly want to add to his resources ahead of the weekend visit of Tranmere Rovers, who are continuing to set the early pace in League One.

Rovers have already comfortably beaten Leyton Orient, Carlisle United and Colchester United and drawn with Shrewbury Town on their way to ten points from their opening available twelve.
