Manager Steve Davis was highlighting cutting out the defensive mistakes that characterised their 5-1 weekend defeat to Brentford.

And Davis was calling for much better and a return to basic values ahead of another visit to the capital and a Capital One Cup second round tie at West Ham United.
"We were poor all over the pitch, didn't keep the ball and didn't do our job defensively," Davis told Crewe's official website. "We then made basic mistakes and those errors in our defending made things difficult for us.
"We made two errors for the first two goals," he continued. "Duggy (Adam Dugdale) was too far off Clayton (Donaldson) for the first one and then Mark (Ellis) has gifted them the second goal. The third has dropped for them and we are then playing for pride in the second half."
