Hammers expected to make changes

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce was expected to make changes for the Capital One Cup tie with Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday evening.

The Hammers appear set to hand first starts to summer arrivals Alou Diarra and Modibo Maiga, while Nicky Maynard and Ricardo Vaz Te are similarly in-line for inclusion.

Latest signing Matt Jarvis could make his second appearance following his recent 10.75m move from Wolverhampton Wanderers. But defender James Collins is currently struggling with a groin injury.

Like their visitors, West Ham will be seeking to atone for a very disappointing weekend performance as they comfortably lost 3-0 at Swansea City.

West Ham United (from): Jaaskelainen, Henderson, Demel, Tomkins, Collins, Reid, McCartney, O'Brien, Potts, Spence, Diarra, Diame, Noble, Taylor, O'Neil, Nolan, Jarvis, Vaz Te, Maiga, Maynard, Cole
