Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis says everyone is relishing the tough start to the season at Gresty Road.

"We have a tough run with Notts County and then Scunthorpe and Brentford and now have West Ham on the end of that" - Steve Davis
The Alex host one of the promotion favourites Notts County in their opening League One game today before difficult away trips to Scunthorpe United and Brentford.

At the end of the month the Railwaymen travel to Premier League newcomers West Ham United in the Capital One Cup second round.

"I think getting West Ham in the Cup is a really exciting draw," Davis told Crewe's official website. "We have a tough run with Notts County and then Scunthorpe and Brentford and now have West Ham on the end of that as well this month before Coventry, so it is a tough run of fixtures but the reason we wanted to be promoted and why we were eager to get through the first round in the cup."
