Defender Adam Dugdale has signed an improved three-year deal with Crewe Alexandra.

The 24-year-old centre-back is in his second spell at the club following an earlier period with non-league Droylsden.

Since returning to Gresty Road a couple of years ago, Liverpool-born Dugdale has made 63 senior appearances and featured in their play-off final victory over Cheltenham Town back in May. He has also stood in as skipper in the past.

Dugdale's current arrangement now keeps him at the club until at least the summer of 2015.
