No complacency at Alex

Manager Steve Davis says there will be no complacency at Crewe Alexandra despite their incredible recent record.

"The players know they have to continue with the hard work" - Steve Davis
The Alex are currently on a 30-game unbeaten run ahead of their season opener against Hartlepool United in the Capital One Cup.

Crewe went nineteen games unbeaten on the way to their play-off final triumph at Wembley last season. And they have followed that by remaining undefeated during their eleven-game pre-season programme.

"There is still a glow from Wembley, but there's a fine line between that and being confident and excited for the new season," Davis told This is Staffordshire. "You can get carried away with it all, but the players know they have to continue with the hard work. If we can do that we will have a successful season."
