Manager Steve Davis won't be bringing in a new striker despite the departure of Shaun Miller to Sheffield United.

The 24-year-old follows teenager Nick Powell in leaving the club since the end of last season after a nominal fee based on appearances was agreed with the Blades. Eighteen-year-old Powell earlier joined Manchester United in a 5m move only last month.

Alex still have plenty of strength in that department and especially with the early form of recent signing Mathias Pogba, who appears set to partner AJ Leitch-Smith in attack, with wide-men Max Clayton and Byron Moore also well capable of moving inside.

"It was a good opportunity for Shaun and one that I encouraged, so good luck to him," Davis told This is Staffordshire. "If we feel we need to add to the squad in that area then we will do.

"But I feel these four have a bit of everything. We have some strength and height with Pogba, we have movement, pace and skill and they can all score goals," he added. "I think the front four are going to be a handful."
