Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is hoping striker Mathias Pogba continues his progress since arriving from Conference outfit Wrexham earlier this month as his side face their next couple of pre-season games.
The 21-year-old scored on his debut at Congleton Town recently and followed it up with another against Quorn earlier this week, to boost his own chances of making the starting eleven for the forthcoming Capital One Cup tie against Hartlepool United.
"Big Pogba is a real handful and that is why we wanted to bring him here and work with him," Davis told Alex's official website. "We think we can improve him and make him a better player.
"He is six-foot plus and he scored a really untypical Crewe goal at Quorn," he added. "He simply ran in and headed in a corner. When he gets on that sort of run, he is difficult to stop."
Alex face two more games over the next twenty-four hours with a visit to Leek Town this evening (kick-off 7.45pm) being followed by a trip to Nantwich Town tomorrow afternoon (kick-off 3pm).
Goalkeeper Steve Philips (knee), defender Kelvin Mellor (ankle) and midfielder Luke Murphy (knee) once again won't be involved.
