Encouraging signs for Alex
Crewe Alexandra's management team have been quietly encouraged by the progress made during pre-season so far.
Alex have already swept to expected comfortable victories against the likes of Congleton Town, Chasetown and Quorn in preparation for their return to League One action next month.
Their programme continues with visits to Leek and Nantwich Town over the next couple of days before their first real examination and a home friendly with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday week.
"We have been encouraged by the performances so far," assistant manager Neil Baker told Crewe's official website. "We haven't encountered any major injuries which is the most important thing."
