West targets opening game
New signing Michael West is hoping for an early breakthrough for Crewe Alexandra after joining them from Ebbsfleet United recently.
The 21-year-old winger penned a two-year deal once Alex agreed a compensation figure of around £30,000 to his former club together with a sell-on clause.
West is a former trainee at Fulham and scored eight goals for Fleet last season on their return to the Conference. During their previous campaign he netted 23 goals to help them earn promotion.
"I am delighted. It is a big leap but hopefully I will impress," West told the Crewe Chronicle. "I need to establish myself and get a starting place. My target is to start the first game of the season. I have a few weeks to get to know the lads and how they play."
