French striker joins Crewe
French striker Mathias Pogba has this evening left Wrexham and signed for Crewe Alexandra on a two-year deal with the option of a third.
The 21-year-old originally started out as a youth at Celta Vigo before moving to French fourth division side Quimper.
He joined Wrexham a year later following a successful trial and netted four times in 29 appearances in his first season in North Wales.
Pogba improved on that markedly last season and struck a dozen goals in 42 games as Wrexham finished runners-up in the Conference before eventually being defeated in their play-off semi-final by Luton Town.
He was offered a new deal at the Racecourse Ground, but Alex moved in after he failed to reach agreement to make him their third summer capture for a nominal fee following Torquay United defender Mark Ellis and former Chesterfield left-back Gregor Robertson.
Guadeloupe-born Pogba is the brother of ex-Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, who was also on the move to Italian champions Juventus earlier this week.
