Artell joins Vale
Former Crewe Alexandra captain David Artell, 31, has signed a one-year deal with Port Vale, with the option of a second year.
The Valiants have also added former Welsh international and Exeter City centre-back Richard Duffy, 26, and ex-Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Chris Neal, 26, to their squad on two-year deals.
Earlier this week winger Jennison Myrie-Williams, midfielder Darren Murphy and striker Ashley Vincent arrived at Vale Park. Experienced striker Liam Dickinson is also currently training with them.
"David is an experienced leader who has been there and done it at this level and I am certain his experiences with Crewe will be fresh in his mind as he prepares for the new season," manager Micky Adams told Vale's official website.
