Lowry deal still alive

Former Chesterfield midfielder Jamie Lowry could still be following his ex-Spireites team-mate Gregor Robertson into Gresty Road.

Alex are currently awaiting a specialist's report to determine the condition of the 25-year-old's knee before offering him a deal following ten appearances on loan with them last season.

Newquay-born Lowry was released by relegated Chesterfield at the end of the campaign after more than a hundred games during six years with the club.

"We have done all we can from out point of view with Jamie," manager Steve Davis told Alex's official website. "There were one or two things with the medical that we weren't totally happy with and Jamie is going to visit the consultant to clarify things.

"The consultant has been on holiday so there has been a delay with that but hopefully the news will come back positive and we can do something on that," he added. "Jamie wants to come and hopefully we can sort something out."
