'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Character key in arrivals

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis says anybody coming into the club must add to the tremendous team spirit currently within the camp.

Alex have already targeted at least five new signings but are mindful of the wonderful nineteen-game run that eventually ended with a glorious Wembley victory in the play-off final.

"The players we are looking at will fit into the way we play," Davis confirmed to Alex's official website. "It's important we get the right people in. We want them to fit into the group both on and off the pitch."

Davis and assistant Neil Baker are working busily behind the scenes on potential new signings in preparation for life back in League One.

Meanwhile, the duo are also waiting for final decisions from out-of-contract Wembley winners Steve Phillips, Kelvin Mellor and Byron Moore.
