Alex target joins Scunthorpe

Crewe Alexandra have lost out on Swindon Town left-back Callum Kennedy after he elected to join Scunthorpe United.

The 22-year-old defender has agreed a two-year deal at Glanford Park after making 23 appearances for the Robins last season on their way to the League Two title.

"As soon as I knew Scunthorpe were interested then I was keen to come here and the manager really sold the club to me," Kennedy told BBC Radio Humberside.

Alex had been interested in both Kennedy and Swindon team-mate Billy Bodin, who could still yet return to Gresty Road.
