Davis remains hopeful on Moore

Manager Steve Davis is still hopeful that forward Byron Moore will extend his current deal at Gresty Road.

The 23-year-old is out of contract at present and could be ready to leave the club - although they would be entitled to compensation given his age, unless his eventual destination ends up in Scotland or further afield.

"We are in the very early stages of talks with Byron and his representative, and remain hopeful that he will choose to stay with us," Davis told Alex's official website. "We want Byron to remain patient and stay with the group because the move will follow. We want him to improve and enhance his reputation with us."

Moore has been offered a new two-year deal after ten goals last season - including the second against Cheltenham Town in the play-off final victory last month.
