Alex target midfield
Steve Davis has confirmed interest in an unnamed midfielder to replace the outgoing Lee Bell.
Former Macclesfield Town schemer Bell, 28, is a free agent after the club decided not to offer him a new deal. Alex have already targeted a midfielder who is currently under contract elsewhere as his replacement.
"We are interested in one,", Davis told Crewe's official website. "He is under contract at a club and that would be a small fee involved in that so we will have to see if we can do something on that or not."
But Davis is similarly additionally considering one or two out-of-contract options: "One is a young player who we think has a lot of potential but has lost his way a bit," he added. "We think if we could get him here, he would only improve."
