Striker could be on way out

Misfiring Shaun Miller could be on his way out of Crewe Alexandra after being given permission to leave the club.

The 24-year-old progressed through the club's famous youth academy and netted nineteen goals the season before last. That saw him being linked with a possible 500,000 move to Sheffield United.

Last term Miller also began really well with six early goals - but then fail to find the target after September. That witnessed him being used very sparingly under manager Steve Davis.

"Maybe he needs a fresh start, and there's a possibility of him moving on. He just needs a new spark, a new challenge and maybe that's his way forward," Davis told the Crewe Chronicle . "We'll give him a chance, he's got another year left on his contract, but whether he wants to be here or not (is up to him)."
