'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Does Big Dave Deserve A New Contract?

After a topsy turvy season for the defender, recent performances have shown real promise. Artell has arguably been a contender for man of the match over some of last month`s games. Indeed, his good form has caught the attention of higher authorities and he is in the running for the Npower League 2 player of the month alongside his manager.

Despite the upturn in fortune he has cost the team at times this season. A poor display against Port Vale as well as being sent off against Barnet is sure to stick in some supporter`s minds for a while to come.

Overall though, Artell has shown a certain amount of ruggedness and captain capabilities that have been missing at the Alex in recent seasons. The defender is keen to stay at the club and surely that`s what we want at the Alex?
