Davis Wants More Protection For His Players
Steve Davis has once again bemoaned the 'lack of protection' given by referees to the Alex.
It's not the first time since his appointment as manager that Davis has felt the match officials have failed to clamp down on persistent fouling against his players.
Earlier this month Davis was left unhappy at the lack of action as Nick Powell was left battered and bruised from the 1-1 draw at Northampton. The gaffer claimed it hinders clubs ability to produce young and skilful players.
Speaking after yesterday's 3-0 defeat at Bradford, Davis was again unhappy at the amount of fouls committed against his side with the BBC stats saying Bradford committed 15 fouls to the Alex's 6.
'I wasn't pleased with the performance. I've told them I expect better than that, but I also don't think things went for them today either.
'We didn't get protection when we needed it because there was a lot of persistent fouling going on. It is a tactic that needs to be looked at.'
