Crewe Sign Two On Deadline Day

Steve Davis kept us waiting but he stuck to his promise of getting in two new faces before the loan deadline passed at 5:00pm this afternoon.

The club have confirmed the last minute loan signings of Burnley striker Wes Fletcher and Chesterfield midfielder/defender Jamie Lowry.

Lowry is the more experienced of the pair, having made over 100 appearances for Chesterfield. The 24 year old, a product of the Spireites youth system, was a key figure in the Chesterfield side between 07-09.

Lowry suffered a cruciate injury in 2009 and was sidelined for 16 months, eventually returning in November last year. This season he has made just two substitute appearances.

He joins the club along with Wes Fletcher from Burnley, a 6ft 2in striker who's already had loan spells at Grimsby, Stockport & most recently Accrington.

Fletcher scored twice for Stanley in 10 games at the beginning of the season before Burnley re-called him.

Both Fletcher and Lowry join the club, initially, till the first week of January, subject to Football League approval.
