Huddersfield Town have seen off Crewe's FA Youth Cup hopes for another year with a 2-1 win at the Galpharm Stadium.
The Terriers progressed to the 3rd Round of the competition thanks to two goals in 10 second half minutes.
The first from Max Leonard, who got the better of George Ray on the edge of the area, just after the hour mark and the second 10 minutes later from a deflected Jordan Sinnott (the son of former Vale boss, Lee Sinnott) free-kick.
The Alex mounted a late comeback with a George Ray header on 85 minutes but even the four minutes of injury time weren't enough to find an equaliser.
It was a disappointing result for the youngsters who will no doubt be counting the cost of Nick Powell's withdrawal from the side. The 17 year old was rested after becoming a vital part of the first 11.
The weekend's match winner Max Clayton was given a full 90 minutes run out.
