Bakes Is Back As Assistant-Manager

Neil Baker will be back at Gresty Road full time for the foreseeable future after handing in his resignation at Leek Town.

After over 15 years as assistant manager, coach and scout, Bakes downscaled his role at Gresty Road in the summer to take on the role as Director of Football at Leek Town.

Today though Neil Baker has been named Steve Davis' assistant manager at the Alex following Dario's stepping down as manager.

Leek Town announced Baker's departure on their Official Website this morning, saying:

'It is with regret that we have to announce that Neil Baker will be stepping down as Director of Football with immediate effect.

'Neil has been offered the assistant manager role at Crewe Alexandra following Dario Gradi's decision to step down. Whilst Neil has thoroughly enjoyed his time back at Harrison Park, this is a role that he cannot refuse.'
