U-18s Ease Through In FA Youth Cup

The Crewe Alexandra U-18s eased through to the second round of the FA Youth Cup with a comfortable 4-0 victory over North Ferriby tonight.

Nick Powell was twice on the score sheet. The Alex attacker netted the opener early on in the game after good work from Max Clayton and Dan Smith.

Powell later added the Alex's second in the second half, chipping the ball past the keeper from the edge of the area and that was the signal for the floodgates to open.

The England U-17 international turned provider just five minutes later, crossing for Ryan Colclough to head in before 10 minutes later defender Joe Guest was in on the action, netting from inside the area for the fourth of the evening.

The youngsters now face a 2nd Round tie away to Huddersfield Town later this month. The Terriers beat Scunthorpe 2-1 last Monday to book their place in the second round and are undoubtedly set to pose a sterner test.
