Darran to Debut

Darran to Debut

Crewe newboy Darran Kempson will make his full debut on Saturday against Northampton. Neil Cox is struggling with a tight hamstring, so the 34-year old will have to wait for his full debut.

Kempson deputised for Cox in the 2-0 loss to Wolves in a recent friendly, and showed himself to be a capable defender. Kempson's pace should combine nicely with the size and power of Julien Baudet.

Cox's injury could also keep him out of the trip to Doncaster next Tuesday night, though he should be fit in time for the trip to Scunthorpe.

Full-back Jon Otsemobor was the surprise captain in Cox's absence in the friendly against Wolves, and is expected to beat the likes of Tony Grant, Julien Baudet and Billy Jones to the captaincy once again.
