Dario looks set to launch an ambitious attempt to sign Arsenal youngster Ignasi Miquel on loan as the Alex continue to search for a first point of the new season.
It's now four defeats on the trot for the Railwaymen after tonight's 1-2 defeat to Rotherham and as usual it's the defensive mistakes that have plagued the season so far.
Anxiety over what the season holds is already setting in for most fans. Despite only one summer signing, that of reserve keeper Alan Martin, relegation to the Blue Square Premier - formerly known as the Conference - is still something that didn't seem to cross too many minds. However, with ourselves and Hereford, the two 'pointless teams', propping up the football league, albeit after just three games, we are definitely being dragged into a relegation battle.
With no money at his disposal, Dario's management is certainly going to be tested and a turn around that we never quite saw under Gudjon Thordarson and Steve Holland looks to be in order.
Having tried and failed to chop and change his current set of defenders to plug the league, it now may be a case of begging, borrowing and maybe a bit of stealing. That won't come from Manchester City, not after we upset them due to not allowing them to poach our youngsters, but having spoken to and watched Arsenal [Reserves], Dario will hope to play his ace card.
If reports are correct then could former Barcelona youngster, now at Arsenal, Ignasi Miquel be on his way to the Nou Camp of Crewe? The 6ft 4in defender has numerous caps at under-16 and under-19 international level for Spain and has also already made two League Cup appearances for Arsenal.
That could well be the spanner in the works, he sounds a little too promising to be sent out to the club helping prop up the football league, but if Dario's said he's already spoken with Arsenal and the papers are reporting Miquel is wanted, who are we to argue?
