Wealdstone 2-3 Crewe

A Crewe Alex fringe side came from 2-0 behind at Wealdstone to earn a win in the final pre-season friendly of the summer.

Steve Davis took the team down South and gave the likes of Max Clayton, Antoni Sarcevic and Ajay Leitch-Smith a final chance to really stake a claim for a place in the team for Saturday's curtain raiser at Swindon.

There were also two trialists on show with the returning Jordan Rose playing at centre back and a new face in the form of striker Kyle Vassell. Vassell has previously been on the books of Brentford and spent last season in the Blue Square South with St Albans City.

Alongside Rose in defence were youngsters George Ray, Paris Batemen and Danny Ting and the inexperience possibly showed as the Alex found themselves 2-0 down early in the second half.

However, within minutes of finding themselves 2-0 down the young Railwaymen launched a fightback and immediately levelled with two goals inside two minutes. First Max Clayton knocked in from a free kick before Vassell turned the game on it's head. Harry Clayton then came off the bench to find a late winner.
