Finally, A Signing!
With less than two weeks before the new season, Crewe Alexandra have finally made their first signing of the summer.
Goalkeeper Alan Martin joins on a one year contract after a lengthy trial with the club this summer.
He turned down a contract extension at Ayr United this summer in order to search for full time football. He has previously had experience in the English leagues with loan spells at Barrow and Accrington, having spent a lot of his time at Elland Road on the bench.
Having already played in several pre-season friendlies this summer, he's certainly looked the part and should provide some good competition for Steve Phillips.
Relatively young for a keeper at 22, there's a also a fair chance of Martin becoming a future Alex number one, although where goalkeepers are concerned at Crewe you're probably best not banking on anything.
He will wear the number 13 shirt.
