Daniels Salvages Draw For Railwaymen

Youngster Brendan Daniels kept Crewe's pre-season an unbeaten one with a late goal at Nantwich Town tonight.

The game was a chance for the second string side to get another full 90 minutes under their belt whilst trying to impress their way into the first 11. It also gave Dario a chance to look further at a few trialists with Leicester City's Tom Parkes, Welling Utd's Loick Pires and former Stockport youngster Jordan Rose all in the starting line up.

The game itself turned out to be somewhat of a comedown from Tuesday night, where there were 12 Alex goals to report on. Tonight's match was instead a stalemate for 89 minutes, at which point Nantwich Town took the lead through Andy Nicholls.

It could have been forgiven if the friendly was then seen out but to the young Alex side's credit they immediately went up the other end of the pitch in search of an equaliser; and got it. Michael Koral provided for 17 year old Brendan Daniels to fire home from the edge of the area.

Crewe Alex team: Alan Martin, Paris Bateman, Danny Ting, Tom Parkes (Trialist), Jordan Rose (Trialist), Casper Hughes, Antoni Sarcevic (Joe Guest 72), Brendan Daniels, Nick Powell (Michael Koral 67), Harry Clayton, Loick Pires (Trialist) (Jason Oswell 53).
