Baker To Look At Leicester Defender Tonight

With Dario taking the first team to Quorn, Davis taking the second string to Newcastle Town, chief scout Neil Baker will be hoping to be impressed by Leicester's Tom Parkes tonight.

The Foxes' centre back is to play in Leicester's pre-season friendly against Telford tonight, allowing Baker a chance to decide if the 19 year old is worth persuing in the Alex's search for new players.

Parkes has been invited to train with the Alex this week already after Baker recommended the former England U-17 international to Dario. Having previously had impressive loan spells at Yeovil and Burton Albion, Parkes could be ready to slot straight in alongside Artell at the back.

However, at 19 years old he is a signing that would go against Dario's philosophy of not signing other clubs kids ahead of giving our own the chance. Admittedly the likes of George Ray are not quite ready for a bruising 50 games a season but the debate remains whether we need more experience at the back.
