Seven Given Scholarships

Crewe have signed up seven youngsters onto two year scholarships today.

The academy hopefuls are Toby Appleton, Liam Nolan, Billy Waters, Ryan Colclough, Liam Wilson, Brandon Moores and Joe Gorman; all will undertake two year scholarships which includes educational study, hoping to follow in the footsteps of the 12 academy youngsters signed up to professional terms just this summer.

Moores, Wilson and Colclough are all described as exciting centre forwards by academy manager James Collins. Of the midfielders, Liam Nolan is described as a tall, powerful midfielder whilst Billy Walters is of the 'Crewe mould'. Irish defender Joe Gorman is describe as a leader who can play both centre half and left back whilst Collins calls Toby Appleton a 'no nonsense defender'.

Good luck to all seven and hopefully we'll see them in the Alex first team somewhere down the line.
