Maynard and O'Connor Subject Of Further Interest

Bids have been rejected for former Alex duo Nicky Maynard and Michael O'Connor by their respective clubs this week.

Scunthorpe have snubbed an offer from Championship side Peterborough for O'Connor whilst Bristol City say they've rejected two further offers from an un-named Championship side, thought to be Leicester City, for Maynard.

Maynard has of course already been subject of a bid by Sven Goran-Eriksson's Leicester City, thought to be around £2.5million it was promptly rebutted by Bristol City. O'Connor meanwhile could be set to move sooner rather than later after rejecting a new contract offer from Iron that would have seen him take a reduction in his wage.

Both moves will be of interest to the Alex as both will have sell-on fees attached.

The club would be looking at something like a 20% cut of any profit made on either player, though with both players entering the final year of their contracts any sell-on fee is probably not going to be as lucrative as it potentially could have been.

Dario has already spoken about how much a windfall would help his summer plans though today suggested that the club aren't banking on the income and will be able to find the money for transfer fees if need be.
