Byron Moore Pens New One Year Contract

Byron Moore has put an end to his on/off 'departure' by committing to the Alex for another 12 months.

The 22 year old has spent the last few months seemingly seeking a move away from the Alex with his previous contract expiring this summer. However, despite rumours of Notts County interest, a move up a division never materialised and Moore returned to pre-season training at Reaseheath on Friday.

A new 12 month deal is considerably shorter than the one reported to have been offered to Moore back in November; whether or not that's down to a request from Moore or a decision by the club, it's one for the conspiracy theorists.

It will however give Moore the chance (again) to leave the Alex next summer, though a compensation fee, arguably the biggest stumbling block for the winger this summer, will still be required.

The biggest plus point from today's news however is the fact all the rumour mongering and ifs & buts appear to be over. With Donaldson joining Brentford and Moore now signed on, Dario is now fully aware of the squad he has to build up for next season and the funds to do it with.

Can we now expect to see an arrival or two prior to our first pre-season games in 7 days time? Let's hope so.
