Mitchel-King Moves To The Dons

Mat Mitchel-King has become the third Alex departee to fix himself up with a new club this summer by joining League Two rivals AFC Wimbledon.

Signed by Gudjon Thordarson back in 2009 from Histon along with Patrick Ada, it's fair to say that MMK never truly got to show Alex fans what he was made of.

Despite playing over 30 games in his first season both under Thordarson and Dario, a chop and change of positions from centre back to centre midfield to full back really went against the 27 year old.

Dario continued to try and find Mitchel-King a new position, perhaps unnecessarily, well into this season but it was to be a continuing back problem, an injury MMK admitted he is unlikely to ever fully get over, that really damaged his season with only 16 appearances.

The injury ravaged season didn't really leave the club with any choice but to release MMK at the end of his contract this summer but it'll be interesting to see how he does if he can put those injury problems behind him.
