Miller to the Championship? Bit soon?
Shaun Miller is courting interest from Championship sides and particularly Nottingham Forest according to the Sky Sports website.
The story may have little in the way of foundation but it is not the first we've heard of a possible departure for Miller. A move has been talked about ever since Norman Hassall told fans that the club would have to sell by the end of June if we want to avoid £1million losses in the next set of accounts.
Miller, give or take Powell and Clayton, remains our most saleable asset at the moment, with Matt Tootle and Ashley Westwood close behind. After a season of 19 goals and 11 assists alongside the 29 goal man Clayton Donaldson, the club already know that the money is in the goal scorers.
Forest however would be quite a jump for Miller, who let's not forget wasn't exactly the most reliable of players up until as recent as last summer. He's certainly come on leaps and bounds since but you'd have to wonder if a move to the Championship would be a step too far at this stage.
Sky do also suggest 'dozens' of League One clubs are interested but there are few clubs in League One who could afford a price tag sure to be in excess of £300,000. With two years still on Miller's contract and Dario's bargaining skills, no-one will be getting a lower league bargain here.
