Ada Set For SPL Switch

Patrick Ada looks set to join Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock following on from his departure from Gresty Road.

The Daily Express and Killie message boards this afternoon have Ada down as a virtual done deal.

The 26 year old of course left the Alex last month after the club decided not to renew his contract. There were rumours that the former Histon man was seeking a move back down South - those rumours clearly without any foundation.

The athletic centre back turned out to be one of the more surprising releases in the retained list despite a up and down time at Gresty Road. Originally signed under Gudjon Thordarson, Ada struggled to retain his place in the side five months into his time with the Railwaymen, when Dario re-took the reigns.

When Ada's Crewe career looked to be on the rocks last summer he surprised most over the last 12 months by turning it round and turning himself into a bit of a fan favourite, putting in some solid performances at both centre back and his new found position right back.

Why he was released has not yet been mentioned by Dario; money will probably come into it, as will the relationship between Ada and the club. Dario has previously told fans of issues regarding Ada's 'willingness' to play which led to PFA involvement, although one side of that story was only ever revealed.
