Fixtures Released This Week
Friday is the biggest day in the pre-season calendar as the build up truly begins with the release of the 2011/2012 fixture list.
First though is the matter of the Carling Cup First Round draw, which is to be held on Thursday morning at 10am. The Alex are once again unseeded, meaning our opponents will be tough Northern League One or Championship opposition.
The seeds are as follows
North - Seeded: Barnsley, Blackpool, Burnley, Carlisle United, Coventry City, Derby County, Doncaster Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Hull City, Leeds United, Leicester City, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, Preston North End, Rochdale, Scunthorpe United, Sheffield United.
North - Unseeded: Accrington Stanley, Bradford City, Burton Albion, Bury, Chesterfield, Crewe Alexandra, Hartlepool United, Macclesfield Town, Morecambe, Notts County, Oldham Athletic, Port Vale, Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday, Shrewsbury Town, Tranmere Rovers, Walsall.
