Byron Moore Could Yet Remain At Crewe

Byron Moore could yet sign a contract extension at Gresty Road this summer, over six months after it was initially offered.

The 23 year old academy product has been seeking a move away from the Alex over the last few months, with his agent believing Moore could play higher up the leagues. However, it now looks like any move out of League Two has fallen through.

Dario today says that Moore's agent is indicating that Byron could yet do a U-turn and sign the two year contract offer which has been on the table for Moore since November last year.

Whatever Moore's choice, it's sure to leave a slightly bitter taste for Alex fans. Academy players who have jumped ship at the first chance have never been sent on their way with the best wishes and it's unlikely Moore would be welcomed back with open arms if he was to re-sign.

The club's hands, however, are tied. Despite giving Moore over six months to mull over a contract offer, withdrawing the offer at any stage would mean the Alex forfeit their right to compensation from whoever take Moore. Moore, though, is allowed to pen that deal at whichever point he chooses.
