Donaldson's Future Still Undecided

Clayton Donaldson is no closer to sorting out his future it seems whilst the Alex await his decision on the offer of a new deal which would see him take a portion of his future transfer fee.

The League Two top scorer seems to be have linked with almost every club in the Football League and whilst Bradford City, a very unlikely destination, are making noises about wanting him, his agent this week confirmed he his fielding interest from League One and the Championship.

However, no news seems to be imminent, despite claims from fans of various clubs of 'done deals'. Donaldson's girlfriend was quick to put to bed rumours on Twitter today, saying: 'For all you lot who are getting sucked in by every rumour going Clayton is still a free agent, chill!!'

For the Alex, it seems like a wait for the inevitable rejection. Despite believing Donaldson to be on his way for the last six months, Dario remains reluctant to bring in his already identified successor incase Donaldson makes the most unlikely of decisions - to remain at Gresty Road.

Today Dario said he will seek to contact Donaldson, as well as Byron Moore who continues to 'stall' on a new deal, in the hope of getting further updates - and hopefully a decision - over their futures. In the mean time, it's a slow, boring summer for the Alex!
