'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vital Crewe Gossip Column Five

After a promising start to the summer everything seems to have slowed down to snails pace in the rumour mill.

INBOUND:

Gareth Owen - Port Vale - Made a u-turn at the 11th hour and remained at Vale Park. No deal.

Jamie Vardy - FC Halifax - The club are known to be keen on the former trialist and are expected to make an offer but there remains a lot of interest from other clubs in the goalscorer with Preston recently declaring interest.

Astley Mulholland - Flixton - Non-league striker has had trial with club after long term interest.

Ewan Moyes - Hibs - Young defender has been on trial at the club in recent weeks.

James Meredith - York City - Reported to have been interested prior to him signing a new one year deal at the Minstermen. Link

Tyrone Barnett - Macclesfield Town - Message board rumours suggest Barnett could be the Donaldson replacement that Dario would be willing to dip into the piggy bank for.

Adam Proudlock - AFC Telford - One unlikely rumour doing the rounds on Twitter this week, a Alex move for 30 year old journeyman Proudlock.

Terry Gornell - Accrington Stanley - Out of contract Accy striker reportedly one of a few Dario is eyeing to replace Donaldson and Moore.

James Hanson - Bradford City - Another potential Donaldson replacement but Hanson would come at a price. Also linked with Motherwell.

OUTBOUND:

Ashley Westwood - Swansea, Nottingham Forest, Leicester - The young midfielder is reported to have been watched by Championship/Premier League bound clubs with a 250,000 fee mooted.

Nick Powell - Liverpool, Arsenal - The 17 year old continues to receive interest from top Premier League clubs but is certain to remain at Gresty Road.

Shaun Miller - QPR, Portsmouth - Miller is looking like a big money departure this summer with Championship interest intensifying. A 500k fee has been mentioned.

Patrick Ada - Exeter City - Not being retained by the Alex, a return to Exeter seems the most likely destination for Ada.

Danny Blanchett - Doncaster, Brighton, Scunthorpe, Huddersfield, MK Dons, Crystal Palace, Charlton - Having been released by the Alex Blanchett could secure himself a surprise move up the leagues.

Clayton Donaldson - Charlton, Crawley, Carlisle, Huddersfield, Bradford, Oxford, Chesterfield, Gillingham, Coventry - Linked with a host a clubs, out of contract Donaldson is said to be biding his time as he weighs up his options.

Dan Smith - Man City - 15 year old academy midfielder linked with a 500,000 move to Man City via The Sun and Daily Mail.

Byron Moore - Notts County - Looks more than likely to snub a new contract in favour of a move to the Magpies. The Alex however will require compensation.
