York Left Back Interests Alex

Crewe have reportedly shown an interest in York City's highly rated left back James Meredith but it looks as though any potential move for the 23 year old has been put on the back burner.

Meredith signed a new one year contract at York last week although his agent today has been claiming his client could well be seeking a move if the Minstermen don't make a return to the Football League before next summer.

The Australian's agent Darren Lewis also claimed interest from the Alex, as well as League Two champions Chesterfield but says both were put off by a required compensation fee.

It certainly fits our summer intentions. With Danny Blanchett looking likely to depart after just one year at the club, the left back spot will once again be available at Gresty Road. However, Dario has already made clear that the club have little to spend this summer after posting big losses at the recent AGM.
