Contracts to be decided

Decisions are imminent on the future of several players as contracts are sorted.

The club has 11 players whose contracts are ending this summer and with big budget cuts at the club, there are likely to be a handful of departures.

It's understood that Patrick Ada has already made his mind up to leave the club this summer and he could be joined out of the door by fellow first teamers Danny Blanchett, Mat Mitchel-King and Byron Moore. Moore is fully expected to turn down a contract extension that has been on the table for over six months now.

Assistant manager Steve Davis has hinted that the club may retain keeper Bartek Fogler for another year. The Polish keeper has yet to make his Alex debut but would provide good cover for Steve Phillips.

The futures of Adam Dugdale and Ashley Westwood Snr are less certain. It's likely the club will only retain one of the pair whilst hoping to sign Port Vale's Gareth Owen. Considering the ages, you'd have to say Dugdale is favourite.

It's anyone's guess which way Joel Grant's future will go. He was expected to be a certain departure but talk in recent weeks suggests the club may just offer him a new deal. Dario, however, has given no hints to the winger's future.

Young pair Lewis Short and Harry Davis will both be hoping to have done enough to earn another year on their deals in order to push the first team next season.

The only one you can be almost assured is staying is youngster Antoni Sarcevic after his impressive cameos in the last couple of weeks.

The Clayton Donaldson situation meanwhile needs little explaining.

The club are also expected to offer professional contracts to a handful of this season's second year scholars.

Contracts expire in the summer of the year stated:
