Former fans' favourite Rodney Jack is training with Crewe in a bid to get himself back in the professional game. Gradi has said that Jack is training with the club in order to rebuild his fitness, but won't rule out offering the 32-year old a contract.
Jack has been out of the game for the last two seasons, although he did have spells training with Port Vale and Wrexham. Jack, who still lives in Crewe, scored 42 goals in 188 appearances for Crewe, but moved to Rushden and Diamonds in 2003 after rejecting a contract extension.
Gradi said Jack still looks slim and fit, although at this stage, it remains unlikely that the striker would be offered a contract.
