Time For Davis?

A new poll has been added to the site asking, should Steve Davis be made manager of Crewe Alexandra for next season?

The former Nantwich boss took the reigns for the 8-1 demolition job against Cheltenham on Saturday after Dario went home prior to kick off with a throat infection.

Davis was already thought to be 'manager-in-waiting' having been brought in as assistant manager two years ago following an impressive spell as manager of Nantwich.

Last season he oversaw preparation for the 4-0 win at Cheltenham whilst Dario was away and Dario later left him in charge to lead the team at Rotherham in an end of season 0-0 draw.

Up for debate how much influence Davis truly had in Saturday's romp, it certainly adds weight to the argument that now may be the time for Dario to step aside for the younger man.

What do you think? Dario out, Davis in? Or are you yet to be convinced, is the club in safe enough hands as it is?
