Crewe Chase Keeper, Says Clubcall

Clubcall reports that Dario Gradi sees ex-Luton goalkeeper Rob Beckwith as the ideal signing to bolster his squad. Beckwith was released by Luton boss Mike Newell at the end of last season, following a loan spell at Chesterfield.

Newell suggested that Beckwith 'wasn't putting any pressure on Marlon Beresford or Dean Brill', and therefore saw no point in keeping the 21-year old.

However, Clubcall is hardly reknown for its accuracy, and tenuous rumours have been known to appear when there is little else to report on.

BECKWITH ,BEFORE HE GOT INJURED WAS 1ST CHOICE KEEPER FOR THE HATTERS AT ONLY 19 YEARS OLD ,ARSENAL WERE MONITORING HIM, BUT HE JUST NEVER SEEM TO PUSH FOR A PLACE AFTER LOSING THE NUMBER ONE SPOT THROUGH INJURY. HE'D DO OK FOR YOU.
