Sometimes you have to win ugly

Dario has said that he was pleased to take the three points from tonight's match against Southend, even if it wasn't the greatest spectacle.
The Alex won it with a 65th minute Shaun Miller goal, a scrappy goal befitting of a rather dull affair between two mid-table sides.
Dario told The Official Website that he was looking for more from the players at half time. He wasn't the only one, fans were begging for more after witnessing a pretty drab first 45 minutes.
'I said to them at half-time that I wasn't enjoying watching it. I didn't think they were listening to me. I wasn't best pleased.
'I got effort in the second half. That was certainly the case with Murph. He was suffering mentality in the first half with the crowd getting on to him.
'Shelley also helped. He did well. The effort was there second half and we defended well second half.'
The win does edge us back towards the play-off spots and we sit just four points off Vale in 7th, albeit having played a game more. We probably have Gillingham more in our sights, we're five points off the Gills with a game in hand.
Dario though says that the team will need to perform better if they are to move back up the table any further.
'It is up to the players now. We have got to play better than that obviously if we want to do anything. I think the first half was woeful but the second half was better.
'Three points is good and sometimes you have to win ugly. I don't like that term but I might feel better about it after a drink tonight.'
