So we can score penalties...

Whilst we may be struggling to score from 12 yards out in meaningful matches, at least the 'fringe' players know how to convert a penalty.

Young striker Antoni Sarcevic and Danny Shelley both tucked away first half penalties in a 3-0 win over Walsall reserves at Reaseheath this afternoon. Ajay Leitch-Smith rounded off the win in the second half.

So does this add to the case that Danny 'set piece specialist' Shelley should be on penalty taking duty when on the pitch?

After yet another miss from Clayton Donaldson, our seventh penalty miss of the campaign, there has to be yet another search for someone who can net them.

Ashley Westwood, Lee Bell and Shaun Miller join Donaldson in trying and failing from the spot over the last couple of seasons, leaving just the likes of David Artell, who has admitted he'd like a go at taking them, and Danny Shelley, who seems to have scored more free kicks than he's missed this season.

Or maybe penalties should just be practiced in training?
